Well, I just ordered this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814102864

Seemed to be a solid card, and I also won't have to upgrade my PSU which is a huge plus.

On a side note, do you recommend any specific drivers?

The 128-bit memory bus doesn't hinder it? I still have a bad memory from when I 'upgraded' from an x800 to an 8600, thinking the 8600 would have more performance due to more memory.

The downstep from 256-bit bus to 128-bit bus was pretty huge in that case, still wonder what the hell I was thinking.

Thank you for the advice, I think I will hold on until at least March. The main reason I was eager to get a core 216 is because they are sold out most other places and are hard to find.

Another reason I'm wanting to get a new card is BF:BC2, been playing the beta and it's freaking AMAZING. My card ...

Do you foresee a card in the 300 series beating the 260 at a $199 price point?

If not, think I will probably just cave and get the 260.

Any thoughts on this for a PSU?

GTX 260 core 216 on 550W w/ 36A?

Newegg should be getting their new batch of the GTX 260 core 216's in today, and was wondering if it's possible, or if I shouldn't risk it.

For the requirements, the following is stated:

525W PCI Express-compliant system power supply with a combined 12V current rating of 38A or more*

Win7 max memory alloc per app

Curious if win7 still has the limit of 2GB physical memory alloc per application, and if so, how to increase that limit?

Doing some googling I found that vista supported /largeaddressaware in the boot.ini, but I'm a little reluctant to using commands for a different OS.

Raid 0 - Few questions

Greetings, as of late, I've had a bit more $ to put into my box, and I've been considering upscaling to a RAID 0 array.

I've been looking around for a day or two at hard drives that would be ideal for an array. I'm not so much worried about capacity, as I am speed.

Capacity wise, I'd be looking ...

My Antec NeoPower 550W just died last night, managed to pick up BFG 550W GX, for $57 + tax.

Does anyone else here have the same one? I've never owned a BFG PSU before, I've owned one of their video cards (didn't even know they made PSUs until recently).

I called Gigabyte, and it seems that even if you disable their CPU load throttling option "C.I.A.2", you must disable a few more options to fully turn it off.

I fixed the problem now, thank you.

CPU speed not correctly being detected?

I have Gigabyte EP45-UD3R board and the Wolfdale C2D E8500, my BIOS seems to be correctly picking up the CPU speed at 3.16 GHz - but CPUz is only reporting the core speed as around 1999.7/.8 MHz, is this a detection error with the new Wolfdales and CPU-Z, or is there truly a problem?
