Ok i remember a while ago i made a ram drive which i believe i put my tcp/ip stack on or one of those files and it made my surfing speed alittle faster. I was wondering how do i do this again? Any help is greatly appreicated

I am willing to call as much as i got to, or whatever because i really want this fixed because i really use to love my Cox@Home but lately it hasnt been what it should be at all. Not even close. Been having the service for 2 years +
With paying from $45 to $50 a month for this is just not fair ...

Lobo nothing was ever checked when i did that test btw. Plus i made sure it wasnt checked and nothing is. Doesnt help anything.

Lobo well i tried turning it off by that run command and it said it couldnt find a DLL named file like that.

I am thinking about just formating my HD and reinstalling windows 2000 pro. just for the heck of it and see if it changes anything. But i dont think it will change anything at all.

Lobo already tried speedguide's tweaks , different MTU values , different everything!!
Even different computers and its all the same.

when the pings go up to 200 to 300ms thats everywhere not just the local severs and internet websites.

i tried to make sure it wasnt the internet but as you can see it isnt cause those severs are for @Home only

i think i saw that only once but that was a while ago about 2 years ago if not longer. i had a tech a few weeks ago out for lots of packet loss , and websites wouldnt come up compeletely.
like it was 50 to 100% of packet loss a lot.
my download speeds were 260 KB/sec to ...

Hey one more thing if anyone else here is from louisiana and having the same problems please tell me. Cause you should call tech support on level 1 since they do the credits and get some credit for how long the slow downs been going on. i was able too.

Some of the @Home tech support people are saying they think 200 to 300 ms + pings at night is acceptable on my Cox@Home cable modem isp but i get 60 ms when its not at the times of around 6 pm to 12:30 am. But some dont and say its not good and want to fix it but it hasnt been fixed and i dont know ...

i had to use it so the tech support on level 2 could get important inforamation and run test on my cable modem.

nuttz i get just as bad plus packet loss i think sometimes.
nuttz but my pings do go up into the 200s and i seen them go up into the 300s :(

nuttz hey i have the same problem too.
i think we should call a lot at the same time. i wouldnt mine to because @Home needs to give the service back we use to have where it would never slow down.

btw i made the size of the ram disk as 2MB is that ok ? or should it be bigger ?
and i have a problem where the internet isnt up when win2k pro boots up i hae to double click on my TCP.CMD file in C:/ to get my internet to work everytime i bootup win2k pro.

this tweak really works but i seen more than 2 files on the ram drive on some pic is there only post to be really 2 files for it on win2k pro to speed up web sites , etc a lot?

Ok here are some really good results at day time i get 10ms average on my gateway at night time i get around 182 to 230 ms.
It sounds like more people are getting on and they need to upgrade there hardward to handle the night.

when i download the 1.2 software to test my download rates i only get 58 to 65 KB/sec
