Have you tried to install 2 hard drives on the promise controller and just use it without enabling the raid function? I would like to get one of these boards but I dont want to run raid.

MTU = 1492
MTU seems to be optimized for PPPoE... If you are not on a PPPoE connection, consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.

I just installed Windows XP "Corporate" and me speed sucks, I have chater cable and a linksys 4 port router. The other machines on the network run fast with Windows 98se. Anyone got any tweaks for XP?

One pc is 98se and one 2000 problem is with both pc's I checked the proxie settings the tech was only on the 2000 pc it must be some setting of charter cable I will have to try and get a hold of him tomorrow

Can't get into my router settings

I had charter Pipeline installed yesterday and the tech set my router up for me, both pc's can see each other and access the net but when I try and get into the router setting by 192.168.1.1
it says the page cannot be displayed anyone know what is wrong?

I've been trying to connect to an irc server and it looks for a socks and wingate forever and never finds them and won't let me connect. I can connect to other servers just fine, do I have to change something in options to be able to connect?

I'm going to set up a dual boot system with either me/2000 or 98/2000. I have 2 hard drives a 20gig and a 4.8gig. The 20 gig is the faster of the two, I was thinking of splitting the 20 in half for ME and 2000 and having the 4.8 for mp3's, downloads, ect. What do you guys think?
