Removing the comcast software...

I did something really stupid the other day... I installed the software Comcast sent me. Anyone know how to uninstall it? It's not showing up under add/remove. Might sound stupid, but I really hate having the lame spinning 'C' logo in the upper right hand corner of IE and Outlook, and having ...

Monthly transfer limit and Comcast

When I got my access through Comcast@Home they didn't have any transfer limits, but now that Comcast is becoming it's own ISP(right?) I heard a rumour that they might be implementing such a limit... 30GB/month I think. Anyone know for sure?

Ok thank you, that's what I wanted to hear... BTW I hope you didn't take my previous comment the wrong way. This is really weird... anyone else run a server of some sort with Comcast? Any difficulties lately?

I know, I stated this in my post. I wasn't asking for comments on it's 'legality'. Just did they do something or not to somehow block servers in general.

Did Comcast@Home change something?

I run an FTP server on a linux box, for personal use(sharing files between home and office mostly). A few weeks ago I tried connecting to it from work, it took about 2 minutes for the login text to pop up. When I finally managed to log-in and tried getting a file, the throughput speed was just under ...

Timestamps

I got this from the TCP Analyzer:

Timestamps (RFC1323) = ON
Note: Timestamps add 12 bytes to the TCP header of each packet, reducing the space available for useful data.

How do I set this to off?

Thanks

You can get a 10/100 Linksys card for as low as $10. I have one in 4 of my computers and have experienced no problems so far. Unless you are hosting a server or something you should be fine with any card. I will admit that my 5th computer a Linux server(web, ftp, game) has a 3com 10/100 card in it ...

Well it has a simple webserver packaged with it, I've never used that one or set it up, but I know it's there because I also have Win2k. To install it(if it's not already), pop in your Win2k CD and then find it under one of the component categories. I have a web server running under linux tho.

The only way that set-up would work is if you had an IP provided by your ISP for each machine hooked up to the hub. What a router could do in your case is let all of your computers share 1 external IP. Like the poster above said, call your ISP and find out.

Uh... no. CS might as well be DM with real guns. If you got the l337 5k1lLz, you can go off by yourself with that AWP or MP5 and kill pretty much the entire team. In tribes you will be overwhelmed no matter how good you are simply because the damage model is different.

Don't buy it Roody. With your system specs you will have to use the lowest gfx settings to play it and it will look worse than T1 =/
Wait until WickedGL releases their miniGL with T2 support then it might work pretty good for you.

Try Cable first, mostly because DSL takes a long time to get installed... like 3 weeks? Or you could order both at the same time and keep the one you like best.
