As it turns out, Sygate firewall was the problem. It was not showing running in task manager and it wasn't in the startup dialog box. I just decided to remove it from Add/Remove problems and restarted and voila.
Thanks for the help but I guess I just overstepped a very important detail.

I can ping and use IRC, but can't browse the web.
Home XP SP2
I connect via a router to a cable modem.
2 other computers in the network work fine.
1 computer (the Home XP) can ping inside the network and can retrive IP's of google and espn.com, so the DNS works, but I can't browse the web on it (have both IE7 and Firefox 2 installed). So this ...

Hmm funny, I was just on another forum and the specific thread was full of .gifs. The page was loading at around 13mbit/s, the same as when wired. So it seems when downloading from more than one specific source, the speeds are as normal. When downloading from 1 specific source, speeds are limited to ...

Garrr. I've tried resetting all settings, re-installing the latest firmware, changing the frequency channels, and still am getting no improvements. :(
By any chance could the hardware go bad? I've had it for about 2 years now. Anyone know the lifespan on these things?
If it is, then i'll get a new ...

Wireless only maxes out around 4mbit/s
WRT54GS
This issue happens on multiple computers.
When wired to the router, I get about 13mbit/s download, when connected via wifi, I only get around 4mbit/s. And both ways upload stream is the same.
I used to get the same with either wifi or wired, but for some reason it just started doing this ...

All firewalls are disabled, and STILL ports come up as stealth. (FIXED)
First, I hope this is the right section.
XP Home, SP2
All (known) firewalls are disabled. Normally Windows Firewall is disabled, and I use Sygate Firewall.

I am mostly connected through 2 routers, 1 wired and 1 wireless.

How to make a Router NOT the Default Gateway
First, everything works fine with the xx.25 as the DHCP server.
I want my WRT54G (xx.33) to be the DHCP server, not the Gateway (the 1st REFSR41). Everytime I do so, the DHCP works, but once the computers get the IP from the server, now IT is the gateway.

Can't ping 2 computers on same workgroup
2 Computers.
Both are in the same workgroup, same IP network.
Connected wirelessly.
Turned off all firewalls.
Can ping router, but cannot ping either computer from the other one.
I know I have to be missing one small step, but can't think of it at the moment.
Has been driving me crazy for ...

Wireless connection drops when downloading/uploading large files over period of time
If I have a BitTorrent client, SoulSeek (P2P Program), or even sending large files (like music albums) over AIM, my wireless connection drops. Whether on DHCP or static, it does not matter. I am then forced to restart (XP Home SP2), it starts up fine. No connection problems when not sending ...

Connecting to Wireless network via Win 98
I have a WPC54GS installed on a Win 98 SE. Because it only has 98 MB of RAM (i don't use it that much), it there another way of connecting to the Wireless Netowrk WITHOUT loading the program that Linksys installed via the CD-ROM. I know it can be done on XP, but I'm not sure on Win 98.
Thanks
Thanks

Why is my UL speed soo slow?
2004-07-07 06:04:20 EST: 3555 / 119
Your download speed : 3640737 bps, or 3555 kbps.
A 444.4 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 122643 bps, or 119 kbps
As compared to the DL, the UL is about 1/30 the speed of the DL.
Anyone know if this is typical or maybe I messed up when doing registry ...
