Thank you very much!
It's still not working. But I appreciate the input. Oh well. I am thinking of buying a new hard drive with more room and doing a clean install of XP. Thanks again for the suggestions.

Tried Update.
I installed update. I hope this isn't something I should have mentioned earlier...but I only see the MS-Dos compatibility messages when I am in safe mode. Does that make a big difference? Because I am still seeing them after update.
By the way, how do I find out if DMA mode is enabled on my drives ...

Thank you all!
I really appreciate the suggestions. I will try them. The tweaks I was referring to were maybe cablenut settings;MTU, etc. I have seen other people get some info before on things that might help speed on downloading or surfing. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Tweaking Probs. Help, please.
I recently did your registry tweak with 98se. Seems to be causing more problems than it's solving. Many pics don't load. How do I change it back to default? Also are there any other tweaks I can do with regular DSL? Last thing, does anyone know of a good Registry fixer and/or Windows Optimizer? Any ...

Justy FYI. I finally broke down and bought a new Siemens Ethernet card. And the DSL works fine now!! No problems at all. Must have been a defect in the old card! I still don't know exactly why the Cable would work with the card and DSL not, but oh well. Problem solved! But thanks for all your help ...

Well...
I believe everything is set as it should be. I don't see any button saying default settings for TCP/IP. Should I remove network neighborhood and dial-up networking and reinstall them? How would I do that? I don't know if there is anything left over from Roadrunner. How can I check that?

yes
yes, I have a user id and password, but I thought it was just for my email account. When I have tried to use their cd that came with the modem to set up my account, it just says their may be a network connection problem, after I give it my userid and password info.

Can't Connect to DSL!
I have had Roadrunner cable modem for a couple of years now with no problems. It still works great! But Verizon DSL is cheaper. So I decided to give it a try. My account has been activated for nearly two weeks now and I have never been able to connect. They show no traffic on my lines. They even ...
