Interesting.... I opened task manager and made sure nothing is running that shouldnt be. I go to the performance tab and right click on my desktop CPU usage Goes to an instant 100% and ram doesnt even move?

I guess I could use a little more ram, but I can go in safemode and have litterally the same problem.

but when I do the scan it doesnt let me know what I am missing just says insert disk. would I have to do a manual overide on the missing files

Would it help if I have a folder in my Root Drive called I386 with all windows drivers, it was something IBM put on my root probally because they were not giving people the CD.

Unfortunatley I don't have the Windows XP disk, I own and IBM which incorperates the winxp files on a hidden partition on the hardrive that I have no access to unless I reformat my hardrive. I notice one thing really annoying about xp home. The fact that when I right click on mydesktop for the context menu it take a good 2-4seconds is there anyway to change this. The right click anywhere else is fine an in all other old versions of windows it was instantaneous.

To tell you the truth when my computer is running no programs or services are running I was talking more on the lines of when I am running winamp=>kazaa lite=>IE=>MSN ETC. I notice they take up very little ram or page file but CPU usage is up a little too much so is there any tweaks I could do to ...

With all this talk on pagefiles lately I have been doing my own investigating my max page file usage recorded was 298MB but if there was one thing I noticed my CPU usage stays at a constant 80%-100% so is there any tweaks fror CPUs out there besides overclocking..

where do I put IrqXXPriority and what is its setting and is it the same as having irq8priority that I have seen around but have no idea where to put it?

I was wondering if there was a way to repair or uninstall ie6.. After I installed xp sp1 I noticed that it now take 16 seconds to load ie when I click on the icon so I wasnt either repair it or uninstall and reinstall again
