Spyware on a hault or Ad-Aware dead?

Ad-Aware hasnt had a new ref file in a while. Is spyware haulted? If it is I can live with that :cool:

I had a 56k expirience like that before. It was a P2P program doing something crazy. But if you feel good about your AV it shouldnt be nothing, are they timeouts? or what?

JackHamma96 has just reinstalled his firewall

Zone Alarm Pro 2.6, I cant stand 3.:rolleyes:


My problem is that none of these firewalls stealth my ports, or close the open ones. I believe its my DSL Modem has its own freaky firewall inside or something :rolleyes:

With this freaky DSL Modem I have a firewall doesnt improve my staus. Lets say at grc.com without a firewall my results will be closed, and 2 ports open, with a firewall it will still be closed and those same 2 ports still open. And it has something to do with my DSL Modem. When I find out how to ...

:eek: After reading this post I just dumped my firewall. I feel im pretty safe. I have the right sites blocked in Internet Explorer, and im using Norton AV 2002 and Swat it Trojan and Bot Remover, Ad-Aware, and Spybot...so im all set :)

It does it on ICQ,Netscape,Winamp but luckily I keep my secuirty settings for trusted websites on High cause I dont trust any website ;)

All of mine come up non-stealthed, and im using Agnitum Outpost Firewall. I think it has something to do with my DSL modem though. Any firewall I use has no affect on security tests. I have no clue why :(

It seems like the slow scanning isnt with Ad-Aware its self its the Ref File. I downloaded the new Adaware 5.83 and teh new file it scans slow. I downloaded 5.82 with the same ref file, and it scans slow. 29-15-06-2002 that was the fastest ref file, to bad I cant find it on the net :(

Even if I delete it, it comes back later. Ad-Aware doesnt even detect it, i 1st found out about it from RegCleaner 4.3


Anyway I can fix it?

How do I change my MTU?

I d/l'd the TCP Optimizer and put my MTU to 1500 then when I got back to the analyzer it still says 1492, and I rebooted also.

Ive read the descriptions of outpost and it talks about plugins to block different types of content etc. Where can I find these? or how can I create them myself if possible/easy?

My friends PC is pacthed, when he caught that virus it seems as if it deleted its self. Dunno if it would do the same if yours was patched(not saying that it isnt). He also has NAV2002
