aol installed on winamp

Post by denolth2 »

I've noticed this too, but I saw this article on Cringeley's notes:

Security concerns

One of my spies discovered that the current version of
the music site Winamp, 2.80, adds http://free.aol.com
to the trusted-zone sites list in Internet Explorer
with no modification. This happens only when the "AOL
icon" option is checked during installation. The spy
said that, although the actual impact of this change
is debatable, the practice of changing security
settings without so much as a notification is
ludicrous. The spy sent an email to the Winamp
development team but has not heard anything back yet.

I was wondering where that aol icon popped in from....this is evil.... :( den2
