Help with VLAN configuration

Hi all

Just got myself a nice little HP Procurve 1810G-24 for use at home, and to play with VLANs some more.

my network looks kinda like this...

IPCop -- green -- on my VLAN2
\_orange -- on my VLAN3

Now, I have my DHCP on my green and not on my DMZ, my 1st 12 ports are VLAN2 from my green on ...

OK, well I went for the good old install over the install option!

I know it`s not ideal but it`s only short term (maybe a week or 2)

Well I can`t see any reason why this won`t work both ways....I got the undeliverable mail notification a few hours later on my Yahoo! email that I used to send tests to my server, obviously because the server did`nt or couldn`t respond.

I`m still playing with the ability one........it`s amazing ...

Well, I got it....eventually.

It all SEEMED too go well to start with, but as per the others, I can send but not recieve, then when I start mooching about to find out why, It keeps crashing my browser.. in fact browsers!

Well, so far The smartermail people need to pull their smarter fingers out and get themselves some smarter bandwidth! :eek:

I`ve been playing around with mail servers of late, and have stumbled upon one that was really easy to use, and above all, it worked!

Ability Mail Server is the fella, as found here , and it`s doing quite well!

To be honest, you`re not really gonna get that information, not even with some of the really nosey hardcore tracer progs. The best you can hope for is the address/info for their ISP.

Try it on your own IP address and see what you can find out, it won`t be a great deal unless someone`s not doing ...

Basically, I`ve had a go with it, and found that even with my better half going online more and more, I don`t need Copfilter.

It never found/removed/quarantined anything, and I just don`t think I need it.

I`d prefer to get rid of it altogether rather than to just disable it.

Alrighty then, bit of an update....

Got a replacement KB off ebay and get the same results :eek: :eek: :eek: I am assured that it`s working.

Anyway, stripped down the laptop to it`s component parts and cleaned/checked/reseated everything/anything in sight.

Seems like both from what I can see.....

There`s like a little rubber dome under each key and the scissor springs either side.

I`m just gonna give the ribbon cable a clean with some IPA, I can only do one end as the KB end is bonded to the inside of the KB.

Well it`s funny you should ask that.... I thought to try it originally but then clean forgot all about it!!!

It works fine with my Logitech USB Keyboard!

Looks like it`s the onboard keyboard that`s ailing then eh!?!?!

I've run DD-WRT on my wrt54g (actually back to running it that way now)

In the web admin of DD-WRT..there's a checkbox to run it in "Access Point" mode.

Set the LAN IP of your wrt to something in the same range as your IPCop box. For example...if IPCop has an IP of 192.168.1.1 on the green card ...
