I have a dual boot on my PC with Win98SE, NT4, WinMe, XP. I have the same problem with IE6 and XP. I do not have the problem with my other operating sytems.

I found that by looking at the blue screen that it would list the offending driver that is causing the problem. My offending driver was for my highpoint ultra dma 66 controllers. Microsoft did not include the highpoint controllers with XP as they did in WinME. So I used subsituted the latest driver ...

The firewall with XP monitors information that is going out of your computer and not what is coming like, viruses, trojans, while in the administrator mode. For that reason, I would disable the firewall with XP and use ZoneAlarm or Tiny Firewall.

I fixed it. Someone on Peppys Windows XP Forum said to remove "file and printer sharing" if there is a internet dropout problem with XP. It works great now. :D

l3ill, Thank you for your reply. My modem is compatable with Windows XP. The drivers for my supramax 56i were included in Windows XP.
