Have you removed all unnecassary peripherals connected to the PC (i.e. external USB drives, printers, scanners, etc) and then try to restart.

Also, try to remove/reseat the RAM and video cards. Also reset the power connector on the Mobo.

Heard on the news today that the city allows any municipal employee to issue a citation - the problem is that most of them don't know how to interpret the ordinances....effing annoying - are there not better ways to raise revenue?

I just picked up a 2002 Suzuki Katana 750 - not the sportiest of bikes, but it's not too bad for long rides and has enough "pep" for me. Congrats on the sale....and purchase of the clubs...I think?

if the world has read and execute (r-x) and executes a process in a directory with SETGID enabled and group on directory has rwx then process will execute with group permissions and not users?

...hmm...maybe the RAID 5 setup is not the right thing for my needs like I thought it was...have about 2TB of data on various drives of various sizes that I have copied to the RAID (still on other drives..have not erased yet).

Whenever the board is replaced it is always best to re-load the OS as the drivers will most likely be different - in this case you should be able to call MS and say you upgraded hardware, installed on one PC etc and re-activate.

how secure is the port forwarding thing though? I thought once you opened a port and directed traffic to the machine you are essentially opening the pc up to the Internet and anyone who decides to scan the port can access the machine...strong passwords and encrypted connection - what else can you do

As much as I love Crucial....their Ballistix RAM can be touchy..often requires higher than standard voltage to run. Some mobo's have issues with that. I suggest standard Crucial RAM.
I'd go with a pair of these..
