Heard on the news today that the city allows any municipal employee to issue a citation - the problem is that most of them don't know how to interpret the ordinances....effing annoying - are there not better ways to raise revenue?

new code usually isn't thrown out on the internet..hell even most small city codes in general are not online..so good luck with that unless you go to their court house.blebs wrote:I searched and searched Toledo's Municiple code and can't find any law or ordinance as such. If someone finds the exact code violation, please let me know.

My buddy is an attorney in Toledo and, during our group training ride yesterday, they were all talking about this. Apparently this lady is a complete looney and these will most likely be overturned.
It was hilarious hearing all these Toledo businessmen talking about her. Apparently she's well known around town for her shenanigans.
You see where the mayor supports it...apparently the only reason this lady (the one who issues them all) is around, and keeps getting promoted, is due to him. There's currently a group trying to oust the mayor. The weird thing is, the mayor's law firm is out of Columbus, OH.
WTF?!?!

Well I'm not sure about Ohio but I'm sure they have something similar to what Michigan has..remember Detroits mayor's issues?mountainman wrote:How is that?
The Michigan Constitution:
Article V Sec. 10. 10 Removal or suspension of officers; grounds, report.
The governor shall have power and it shall be his duty to inquire into the condition and administration of any public office and the acts of any public officer, elective or appointive. He may remove or suspend from office for gross neglect of duty or for corrupt conduct in office, or for any other misfeasance or malfeasance therein, any elective or appointive state officer, except legislative or judicial, and shall report the reasons for such removal or suspension to the legislature.
