Well, well, well, if it isn't the picture-happy Lobo. Once again he is over-excited about yet another totally unexplained, unduplicated by anyone, totally radical discovery. This time it was a weird reformat/reinstall of Windows that did it. Well this has all kinds of broadband conspiracy theories ...

Yes what is the purpose of posting these pictures? It seems that every once in a while Lobo feels the need for attention and he starts posting these stupid pictures of speed tests. Just to start another pointless discussion. The differences in speeds are always minor from one time to another (as ...

No it is not a shared connection for the building. Each data jack in an appartment has its own IP and is an individual connection to the ISP. The service is only available in downtown Vancouver. It costs $29.95 per month (canadian dollars) so anly around $20 US or so. Yeah its a hell of a deal. The ...

You know Lobo I am beginning to see why some people out here don't think much of you and your advice. A lot of the stuff you write just does not make any sense. You say that you posted a picture of your speed test to 'slow' (show?) to the new people that you know 'alittle'. So how exactly does that ...

No no nothing extreme like OC anything here... just a residential fiber optic connection in Vancouver, Canada, plus extreme settings from the CAblenut add-on. The best part is the price $29.95 Canadian per month (only about $20 USD).

I am on a fiber-optic connection. The service provider is Novus. http://www.novus-tele.net The claimed speeds are up to 10mBps. I am running Windows XP Pro (freshly re-installed, all reg settings default). The speed is great as it is, however I am sure that there must be more optimal settings that I ...

Calling all experts... Weird FTP problem
For some unknown reason I can not connect to some FTP sites. I tried using different FTP programs (Cute, Bulletproof, etc), but still the same thing happens. When I try to connect, Cute FTP says "Connected, waiting for welcoming message..." and nothing happens after that. When trying the same site ...

Easy CD Creator Platinum Update Problem
I am running Easy Cd Creator 5 Platinum under Win XP Pro. I followed the update instructions on roxio.com but when I try to run the 5.02 update it says that there are no qualified roxio products detected. Therefore the program does not recognize my CDR drive (a newer 24X). Any ideas? Anyone?

Lobo - quick RWIN question
What RWIN values shoudl I try? The only reason I ask is the TCP analizer suggests using RWIN that is multiple of MSS but I have no idea what to do with that info. My current RWIN is a result of trial and error, I know its high but I am getting good results with it. I am wondering if there are some ...

Can't turn on TCP1323 in XP! Plz HELP! Lobo?
I just installed Win XP. Everything is great, BUT I can not turn on the TCP1323 and therefore my RWIN is limited to 17520. I tried doing it manually, and using Cablenut adjuster, but still no luck. In the cablenut program the option is ON but on the TCP/IP Analizer thr RWIN is 17520 and the 1323 is ...

Well I tried using the Cablenut Adjuster but no matter which settings I used in it, the actual speed went down. I had to uninstall it get the speed back. I am thinking of simply changing the RWIN but I have no idea on the value to use. The rated speed is upto 10Mbps, I usually get just over 7Mbps on ...

Tweaking a Fiber Optic Connection?
I have a direct fiber optic connection in my appartment building and the data jack will be activated in the next few days. I would like to know if anyone has any idea for any of the advanced/tweak settings I should use.
