Have to hit repair button every 5 minutes
Ok...I installed XP last night. It was an upgrade..I know..not as good as full install. Everything went ok. The one problem that is KILLING me is I have to hit "repair" on the network gui every 5 minutes. It keeps dropping my connection when surfing the internet. It's weird. One time it dr...

Your problem also might be your modem. I had the same problem with the old motorola @home used to issue. After a year of shakey and sh*tty pings, I learned to accept it. Then one day, they switched out my modem(due to unrelated problem) and afer that, my pings were solid and LOW. I now ping my gatew...

Well, get this. I had the same exact prob as you Brent. I had the sam pings to my gateway. I have a friend who lives in Plano and he could ping my gateway better than I could! As a matter of fact...everyone of my friends could(except the ones on dialup). Even though the gateway pings were bad, the s...

Dual Boot or Upgrade to win2k?
I would just like your opinions or facts. I just got win2k professional. Right now my system is win98 upgrades to win me. Would you install a dual boot or would you simply upgrade to 2000? I personally would prefer to upgrade so I don't lose the progs I have already and I really don't even want the ...

Tracert will not show you the problem. Ping times are wonderful for me. It's the 'hiccup' in the connection that causes the lag. I emailed Richard earlier about all the Garland:Richardson area people signing an electronic petition and sending it to craphome...I mean @home to maybe motivate them to a...

Sorry it took me so long to reply to this thread, but I have been out of town and just got back. I am in Garland and I am experiencing the EXACT same thing. It's funny...some of these replies look like I submitted them because I, too, thought it was something wrong with my computer. I went as far as...

I was about to start a topic on this, but let me throw my 2 cents in... I am having what seems like the exact same problem. It seems like there's a hiccup in the connection which kills ftp uploads, email uploads, chat session (you know...the one to talk to the @home techs...can't even tell them my p...

Overclocking Emachine 400id
Ok. Someone with higher knowledge please spare some on me. I have an emachine 400id and no clue if it can be overclocked. I have looked and either can't find or don't have bus speed jumpers. If you have done it yourself or know how it's done on this particular model and motherboard(whatever kind it ...
