@home problems in Richardson/Garland Tx. Speak up!

Post by Ibis »

I think it might be best to get a clearer picture of how many of us there are that are affected by these strange timeouts.

Reply here if this affects you. @home has been of absolutely no help in trying to correct the obvious problem(s) on their end and we might make more waves if we speak up as a group.

Feel free to contact me.

Have you run some trace routes to try to pinpoint the problem? In DOS type tracert www.exite.com and post the results here please.

You tracert www.excite.com. You can also use Network Diagnostics to do the tracert.

Me and Ibis have communicated, his and my test show that it's within the @home network, exact same problem.
I'd like any Richardson/Garland people to go to http://www.dslreports.com click on 'tools', and run the "line packet loss test" ( you have to register to run this test, but it's easy and worth it!) to see if you get the same trouble spot me and others get.
I'm going to report this problem, of course; but @Home already know's this specific problem exists; I feel we need to get enough (a few more?) people to independently verify this problem, then when we notify/complain to the proper people we may get something done.
If this problem is valid, I say we all send an email with the same Topic and possibly a link to this thread so they will know we are in unison. Ibis has an email to the local ATT mgr. so we'll see how this thread goes.
I know this is kinda general but I don't want to mention the exact problem, I don't want to lead anybody, I'd like them to run the test themselves to see if it shows the same trouble.
And of course, this thread, I feel, is directed toward local people.
Please feel free to email me about this or running the DSL test, also I can help with the "neotrace" proggie this shows this problem as well.

Tracert will not show you the problem. Ping times are wonderful for me. It's the 'hiccup' in the connection that causes the lag. I emailed Richard earlier about all the Garland:Richardson area people signing an electronic petition and sending it to craphome...I mean @home to maybe motivate them to actually DO something. I'll look into getting this petition together and keep ya'll posted.

Ok, guys. I have an electronic petition ready. All I need to do is set the petition statement. Since I am not an English major, I need some input and proof-reading by ya'll. Here's what I have for the rough draft:

We the undersigned request that AT&T @home resolve the issue of consistent packet lost resulting from network problems at r2-fe2-0.grlnd1.tx.home.net. Although we are not 100 percent positive if this host and only this host is the one responsible, we are certain that it is a hop that most of Richardson and Garland Texas must go through. Until this is resolved, we feel that our accounts should be credited accordingly and we should be updated by email regularly.

Is this ok? Let me know so I can submit it in. After I do this, I'll give yall the web address for everyone to sign.

Ok guys. Here's the link:
http://www.petitiononline.com/att1/petition.html
Please tell everyone who is affected to sign this. The more the better. I figure the faster we get this to them, the sooner we can get back to online fraggin' :-)
