One thing to consider is that you can still check your up/down caps with a 3100 HERE.

Cookies don't update on my 2 machines(RR cable), a friends at work(wireless broadband) and on a couple of @home machines.
I'll be dammed if I know what's going on. It also happens on another BB I'm on! Guess I've pissed off the cookie gods-huh?
Oh-and yes I've deleted cookies till I'm sick. Logging ...

Cookie problems with this board?
My cookie on this board won't update. i.e. the date/time "you last visited" won't update. This happens on BOTH my machines(W95/IE5-W98/IE6). I haven't changed anything and noticed it a couple of days ago. The only way to get the cookie to update is to log-out/log-in and from then on it's stuck on ...

I have a SB3100 modem and I can goHERE and see what my modem settings(like min/max bitrates) are. That's the main reason I elected to buy this modem from RR for 10 bucks a month(for 12 months).

Cox/RR raised my internet 5 bucks/mth.-->
Got a letter from Cox saying my cable modem service will go up $5
next month to $34.95. I have the option to wave the $15/mth. modem rental and just buy that GI3100 for $129. I will pay $10.75/mth. for 1 year and own the modem.
First Cox @home/RR caps my happy ass now they raise my rates.

How to compute RWIN-->
According to www.dslreports.com -->
"Receive Window should be larger than bandwidth delay product (also known as pipe capacity).
For example, for 170ms delay on a 768Kbps link, RWIN = 768000 bits/sec * 0.170 sec = 130560 bits = 16320 bytes."
What do ya think of that?

Apparently there are quite a few ISPs that support shotgun and are not too expensive.
