Downgraded from 10mbps to 1mb - HALP! :(

Hey folks, I downgraded to the lowest possible speed my cable company offered (for $$ reasons) and it really stinks. Originally I had 10MB down, 1mb up..now 1MB down, 256k up (speed tests are in line with this). My real world download speed went from roughly 900kbps to 100kbps.

I'm using InsightBB ...

"Connection Interrupted" messages while playing games. Any way to fix this?

Lately I've been getting very bad lag on a few games. Every 20-30 seconds, the game will just freeze up, giving me connection error messages, then it will resume and play fine for another 20-30 seconds.

I'm on cable (advertised rates 4mbps/256k) and have no problems with downloads or surfing the ...

Sup folks...my brother is getting cable in his apartment. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with this. Is the connection slower than a line to a house? Can he ask the cable guy to do anything special to give him a good connection?

Just wondering what can be done to maximize speed in a ...

Update the driver for your ethernet/nic card. Go into device manager to get the exact name of it, then google it to find the manufacturer's website. Download and install the latest driver. That should help.
