I'm noticing alot of lag on our server. I have not played on other servers yet but it seems the lag is back.

Sigh.......

I decided to go ahead and install the new DirectX version 9.0c. Going back in to see if it helps in any way....crapshoot at best.

I installed DX9.0c and it seems much better. Why I have no idea lol. The network stuff in DX9.0c is till DX8. Who knows. But at least it is playable and there are more folks on the server. Hopefully we can keep it that way. I just wanna work out any bugs before we lose interest.

Undecided yet...haven't played enough to notice the changes. The new VC helicopter is cool, didn't get a chance to fly the new US one (Cayuse/Little Bird).

The new level I think is VERY well made.

Performance wise, I played for about 20 minutes, was all the time I got last night. Seemed fine for me...seemed to play the same. But other people complaining about lag, could be from the mydoom.m virus that's outbreaking the past 2 days, it's choking ISP's, esp those who host mail servers. Internet isn't as smooth lately because of that.

Last night Rich was doing some stuff with the OC-3...bounced the router a couple of times adding some stuff to the ACLs probably because of the new mydoom variant (I was there working late, we were moving our office into a bigger room). When I was home playing, I didn't notice any performance differences, but at times, it might have effected peeps a few brief times.

good point about the lag. I didn't realize the net was under siege again. For me...lag is the worst part about this game. I could play on low graphics if the lag were nill.

Yeah a bit undecided for myself as well.. I lke the new choppers...the heatseeker for the mutt is ok but not as accurate as I think the SA7's are and the lower of shots from it to 6 wasn't a good idea I thought but what the hell they are better than what it was also the take down ability of the m60 and LAW to the choppers is more effective so that is good now. I didn't notice any lag last night perhaps my distance to the server and route is good.
I'd like to see what changes are in other maps considering I didnt' have time but to play just on the new one with a few of yall last night. I reckon I'll go ahead and install the new directx9c and see what happens as well seems its getting good feedback.

M-16 seems MUCH more accurate now. May be just me, dunno, but it was like I couldn't miss last night.

I'm not really that impressed. I played a little last night and I found it extremely hard to shoot infantry with the weapons of the new choppers. I noticed lag on some servers, but when we went into a private one, the lag subsided. The sa-7s aren't as accurate either. I don't think that accurate sa-7s were ever a problem. Also, has anyone figured out how to "spot" from the loach passenger position? I tried everything in my drunken state and could not figure it out. I am a little disappointed, but it might just be that my expectations were too high. Ho hum.

Is it not like DC where you can scout from the pilot seat with the alt fire key ??

The speed increase of the jeeps is very cool! :thumb:

Increase in explosion effects of tank shells landing near infantry is another key improvement.

Tank turrets can aim a bit lower also...another cool thing!

That physics glitch where you took a lot of damage if running down stairs or down a steep slope has been adjusted.

Those are my fave fixes! :D

Oooh..noticed this morning..you can change the altitude of your map views (birds eye view) again like you could in bf'42, by hitting the M key over and over til the one of three views you like is active. I like the highest altitude view.

Well at first I agreed about the MUTT heat seekers but in real life I don't think they were that accurate during that time..which I'm glad they took some of it off the sa7's too I hate them things! I agree so far with YOSC about alot of the new things I haven't noticed any lag.. I did have a lock up but I think that came from something on my computer. I've installed directx9.0c along with updated my graphics driver to go with it..and everything seems to be working great so far heh

ok I'm going to have to say the drop in weapons for the huey gunships is a pisser! you go flyin and you now only have one shot rather than two?!?! I don't understand when you have a rocket launcher mounted on both sides of the thing?!?! this isn't how it was in real war?! EA needs to put that back the way it was or else the gun ship isn't going to be effective at all seeing as how the MI8 still has all its guns!
