Need Advice on my New Build

Post by Genuinely »

Hello guys Im in the process of building a new Gaming Rig so far i purchased just the case, but tomorrow after work i want to order everything else...so here is the list of the parts i would like for my computer.

Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131365
Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820231225
CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819115202
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817371026
OR
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817371024
GFX Card(s): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130475
i currently have the case already i also have a 1TB HD WD there is nothing on it i am going to be running Vista 64bit on the system since i already own the OS i was going to use a EVGA mobo which was a lot cheaper than that asus one but i was told a bunch of bad things about the EVGA like bent pins shorting out etc. im also wanting to get those 2 gfx cards i was told they were really good, i was also told there was some ATI cards where u can run 3 and they were mid range cards that werent too expensive and they would out perform a really high top end card...im not to sure about it though as i haven't heard much about it, im also open to different parts of anything im building to make my gaming rig more stable thanks much i am open to any suggestions thanks for your time and concern.

im open to a AMD build as well...doesnt have to be intel

My only question would be the video card....if you're putting together parts for a gaming rig now..why not get a DirectX 11 graphics card?

definitely replace that video card with an ATI 5850...it will blow that nvidia away for the same price.

yea loop what sava said im currently just going to use my spare 1TB HD that is clean in the future i will go with some sort of a raid set up ....ummm as for the mobo i was also thinking maybe a evga one but ive heard tons of bad things about evga with the bent pins etc...was thinking if it was a good idea to stick with that asus mobo or try out that evga and with that new video card is that visiontek company any good? never heard too much about them

evga mobo: but if im going ati then i would obviously need a different mobo then this since it doesnt support crossfire.

I've been more of an Intel fan lately.
I'm also a fan of Asus motherboards

If you're looking to stay more on a budget, Sapphire 5770, $165 bucks at the Egg, and it's got plenty of balls.

Very, but Intel regained the top speed crown and it holding on to it well, for a while now.

well im only playing World of Warcraft no FPS games for me anymore, so im sure AMD can hold its own with WoW and i would only need a directX 10 card since wow is still using directX 9

Intel is by far cheaper and faster than AMD at this time.

And I'd stick with Nvidia for a graphics card, the driver support is just much much better at the moment. The new series is getting ready to release also which should drive prices down some more on current models.

Nobody says a top of the line AMD processor can't handle wow.. hell my cell phone can handle Wow :D

But you pick out a AMD chip and I'm sure any one of us can find you a Intel chip faster and cheaper ;)

Well the "Fermi" line which is what they are calling it was hinted to release of late Jan of this year...and we have since past that date so I would say by June at least.
