Thanks Burke
I had purchased a new Dell 24" Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP on July 9th and had asked if there where any coupons out or forthcoming and was advised there where not.
While visiting the site here to see if anything new was out i spotted your post and immediately contacted Dell. This morning i was given a credit to my card for $170 bucks.
Thanks again, it is posts like this that are a great help

Hi CableDude & YeOldeStonecat
Thought i owed Burke a big Thanks...$170 bucks pays for a lot of new CD's.
The weather here has been the worst i can recall. Rain almost daily and cooler than normal as well. I feel sorry for the kids vacation time and those into boating and cottaging or other outdoor pleasures.
Hope your both enjoying your summer.
Well back to my little world.

I do appreciate your invitation Philip, however i think i posted myself out. As to the monitor, my eyesight was getting worse and this 24 incher has certainly made using the computer a lot easier on me. I respect your opinion, so no after shopping for me now.

The high contrast numbers(dynamic contrast ratios) aren't bogus, but are tested in an ideal or perfect environment. It does add confusion to the mix. Just as Acer's ACM tech does, that supposedly adjusts the ratio as need.
In some way the numbers all matter though without the identical tests being done to each monitor, a direct comparison of the fact sheets isn't accurate at all times.
