The only person stiring is you! why don't you post a relevent reply to the thread...or just let it fall to the bottom of the forum? I watched you clean a thread today of unrelevent post chastizing others about doing it..then you turn around and do the exact same thing you chastized those posters for here!

Golf clapp to you....nothing to add or discuss to my post....you are the problem!

Thanks!

I'm questioning you reference to the religion of peace. I'm not sure what that has to do with the whole picture. Fundamentalism is just that. Doesn't matter what religion it is. Ask Timothy McVie.

A nut case is a nut case. Doesn't matter if they are wearing jeans, a kilt or running about butt naked.

Other than that, imho, the forum NEEDS more conservative views for a more balanced discussion. I'd only wish they weren't so umm........put up in such a way as to really distract from the story linked. Like the the other thread you put up.

Keep on spooning!

well do you think its a problem of their religion or is it a problem that we basically had taken over the country and we allowed them to do as they pleased rather then have a say in how they should form their government? Weren't we also supposed to be bringing them democracy as well and removing the overbearing terrorist supporting Taliban regime?
Isn't this something our government should have considered before they handed over the reins to the country?

Well you see, the fact is, we do. What I consider stiring the pot is a member who's only contributions is to drop in and post political nonsense. Lots of members post and create political and religious threads. They also partake of the fun here. They contribute to other threads in the general fourm that have nothing to do with politics/religion and also partake in the other fourms.

Then there are those who certianly seem to have only one agenda here..

Back to subject. The Tailban is on the rise again in Afghanistan, aided by battle tested Al Qeada in Iraq, traveling to Afghanistan. It's getting ugly for sure.

...a crime under this country's Islamic laws...

Sounds like the guy is an idiot. If its agaisnt the law and the punishment is death, maybe he should have moved first. Not every country has free religous choice.

His family took his kids and when he came back home to try to fight them for Custody they must have used that law against him to keep him from getting them. he was living in Germany.

Good to see you finally comming around to accept religious intolerance......just a different country... for now.

Only problem with your agreement with YoS is this....
Rahman returned to Afghanistan in 2002 and tried to gain custody of his two daughters, now aged 13 and 14, who had been living with their grandparents their whole lives, the father said. A custody battle ensued and the matter was taken to the police.

During questioning, it emerged that Rahman was a Christian and was carrying a Bible. He was immediately arrested and charged, the father said.
he didn't live there anylonger. He only returned to regain custody of his children.

Under Shariah law any muslim that converts from Islam faces the ultimate penalty of death. No matter where they live.

I don't accept religious intolerance on a personal level. Never have, never will - you should be free to worship or not worship as long as you please and as much as you please.

Nice mud-slinging though. All I did was agree with YoS that the man - knowing his life was forefeit if he was found out - returned to the country to get his kids. Sorry, but that was an act of monumental idiocy, even if I don't agree with what that country is doing.

Tough ****. If you choose to live under those laws (and in this case, the guy did) and to do things that break those laws, well, your life is forefeit. If you did not choose to live under those laws then sorry, and I would help anyone I could who wanted to get out from under that oppression.

The best thing he could have done was to go in and kidnap his kids and then split over the border. I feel bad for the kids not being with their dad and now dad gonna die or get life imprisonment.

well as an update I guess the guy is getting off.

An Afghan Muslim man who converted to Christianity now seems unlikely to be tried or executed for the crime of rejecting Islam, thus heading off a rapidly escalating confrontation between the Kabul government and its Western military and financial backers.
