Why would you join the military then

leave in middle of a war becuase you are against war?

Joining it means there might be a point you have to go to war no?

I dont get it? Or did they just join to get an education and take advantage of the benefits?

Also, they are "medics" trained to save lives, not take them.

it dont sound like they saw much it was right before they got deployed, sounds like they got cold feet

90% of the time the education benifits were the reason for joining. My view is if you enlisted you do the time either under orders or in jail. Neither my wife and kids nor I looked forward to my deployment to combat, but we endured. You wear the uniform, take the oath, and do your duty bottom line.

War isn't a pretty thing, but cowardice is pretty ugly also.

If your military specialty is infantryman, you shoot people. Yes that are other ways to serve your country. Waiting until just before deployment to decide you don't agree isn't one of them.

I agree with that as well.

I don't agree with the assummtion (if there is an assummtion) that cowardice was thier reason. Thier reason may have been moral, or something else.
