No, we know what a power outage/fluctuation sounds like. This was more like fire alarm, extremely piercing. I am wondering if they are not programing from the sky, kind of like the electric company can do.

I"ve shut my box off now. Don't want to be awakened like that again.

FIOs in my Bedroom, Scared me, What happened

Yesterday, at 5 AM I was awaken by extremely loud, ear splitting sound. My dogs were barking. I thought my fire alarm but it shut off immediately. It came from the area of my TV but my TV was off. Then I thought, well there's a vent there so maybe something in basement. I searched my home, I couldn ...

Maybe it can't be fixed

Lent my laptop to son because his was not working (I fixed it) now mine is not working. He said he got a warning about overheating so he shut it down, took it back to dorm and put it upside down on his desk so it would cool. He accidentally spilled soda onto the back of laptop.

Ok, laptop wouldn't ...

Police are the ones that found the laptop and returned it to me. It was found in a pawn shop and the person who stole it was out on probation, working with a contractor who was doing work in my house. The guy is in custody but I'm out in the cold.

The data is not that important anymore. Its been 2 years, what would be nice if I could just use my old laptop, like having it downstairs and one upstairs. I don't have the money to just waste, as I said, I bought a new one but I'm still paying on it.

I wish the police could have done something.

Stolen laptop, thief installed

Thief installed Windows 7 ultimate with a password. There is a password reset wizard but I need to have created a password reset disc. Is there any free way for me to open my computer?

Thief named himself/herself Chopcity, the hint is My Angel.

I had made out a police report and the police found ...

Help needed for changes made to Services console

I was trying to fix a service hang and used some directions found on the internet. I pushed the wrong button and now I'm afraid I might have changed all the services which run on my computer. I am afraid that when I shut down, necessary services won't be restarted and my computer won't restart. Does ...
