walk thru for connecting xbox to comcast

Post by cindy1948 »

Can anyone walk me thru?

I have netgear for my router. I bought the MS 740 wireless adapter and now I can't connect.

I can get it to connect to the internet by disabling Mac addressing in my router. ( Problem with that part is that none of my puters will then work, only xbox is connected) In addition, when we do connect that way to x box live, it says that it can't connect and then it asks if you want to trouble shoot your connection.

This is the second kind of adapter I have tried to use. Yikes, it must be me.

Help! Pleaseeeeeee!

Try re-enabling the mac addressing in the router, then power cycling the modem after it's attached to the router. See if that helps any :)

I tried it, that didn't work.

I did go into my router and there is one strange part, I have all the mac addresses listed but when I go to attached divices menu, it doesn't show the xbox as a device.
