The ip you would want to tell your friends would be the 28.45.56.xxx one. That is your WAN ip. The other ip is your LAN ip (just for your network). The most probable reason your friends cannot connect to your webserver is because the ports are not yet forwarded. To do this, you'll need to access ...

Old P3 450 as a router, or Nexland ISB SOHO as a router?
I'm getting a new computer soon, and I now have the option of keeping my Nexland ISB SOHO as a router, or the option of turning my old Pentium 3 450mhz into a router.
What I intend to do for the old computer is to have it be a computer that is able to:
Host files for personal use (FTP)

I was doing a little internet searching, and I saw someone stating that when the FS108 has all 8 ports occupied, things began to messed up. He said when he called the rep, they told him to find a different router because the "backplane" was not meant for his "needs".

Help me choose the right switch please!
I'm currently running a small home network with 5 computers, and am looking for a switch. I DO NOT need a router! :)
So far, I've been looking at these models of switches:

Any solutions to control an application's bandwidth usage?
Is there any way to put caps on bandwidth usage for programs? Lets say I wanted to allow 200kb/s for a program, and leave the rest for my day to day work, would there be any way to do that?

Found firmware!
After some searching on various forums, I have found that the Nexland FTP site is still up. If you want your firmware, download it quick, before it goes down.
ftp://ftp.nexland.com/pub/firmware/
I also believe that a person has put the firmware on his site also.

Well, I copied all the files in the i386 folder on the w2k cd via <C:\w2k\>copy e:\i386 *.* However, after copying, I head onto the w2k folder and run winnt.exe to set it up. I just got my A7N8X mobo and the amd 2600+ processor.
the processor came with a stock heatsink and cooler. This heatsink is such a pain to get on, I have a feeling I'm gonna break my board before it gets on. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to get it on??
