Loading XP on a new computer with XP CD that doesnt boot?

Post by KuRe »

After building my computer I plan on loading XP onto the system. However, the CD being used isnt bootable because it was burned for me by a friend.

Would you guys tell me how I'll go about getting XP on this system? :)

Also, this is a computer with nothing installed... no dos.. anything..

The problem with this post is that you're using a pirated copy of XP, that unless it's also a pirated copy of the Corporate version, will require activation.

The Snake hit it on the head... go buy a copy.

I just had to do a reformat on a computer for my girlfriend at work and the CD-ROM would not boot.

I had to make the 6 disk set to run in the floppy drive to get it to load ... and it was NOT a pirated disk.

If he/she hadn't posted the truth we could have assumed it was a backup.
But since we know what's up, no can do here at SG, even though the info has been posted many times and a search of the forums would find it :)
