I've had 56K and still do at my dad's ...

56K.com articles state the MTU should be 576

I guess all those webpages that say that must be all wrong


If the MTU is 1500 for 56k, it shouldnt matter if mtu is 1500 for pppoe huh huh? But yet it does matter....

oo, I must of missed that ... I've tried both of them.. doesn't make a differance so I rather leave it at default

for 56k? shouldn't his mtu be in the hundreds?

if it really doesn't have an effect on speed, how can you say which is good for which ?

uhm, when I switched to raspppoe I went from 1280 to 1302 on the speakeasy tests and my ping decreased.

Hello again, I've formated my PC and insalled XP PRO... It basically ownz every other Windows OS I've used (I've tried all of them..)

yes sir, I am using the DSL PPPoe settings, just changing the RWIN value... I'm experiencing high packet loss..... Web Pages are real slow right now with RWIN set to 255552.....

I applied the NIC buffer tweak and tried the values assigned... nothing helped....

By the way at night my connection becomes 26 times faster then a 56k according to SpeakEasy

I've tried all 3 of the specified RWIN values and none of them work for me . I am getting packet loss and my speed is not stable...
