spaceman what OS and network are you running ?

In cases like these reinstalling your network from scratch will fix these problems but you need to give more details first

OS? 98/me/2000/xp
modem/nic card?
dial up/DSL/cable/LAN connection ? AOL ?
if dsl what do you use to connect winpoet raspppoe ...

what browser are you using?

if its IE (like most) go into Internet options/advanced/disable script debugging

script errors are part of life :(

According to this person It does and I quote

"How to Change the PPPoE MTU Size" http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q283/1/65.ASP does work.

You have to create the key as described. If no key is present, the default value of 1480 is used. There is no TCP MSS setting in Windows ...

Autoconnect won't work except for IE or outlook express

when starting IE or outlook express in XP it works fine but Netscape,ftp programs and icq won't Autoconnect unless I'm already connected.

I'm using raspppoe and I've tried everything and I can't find the setting as in win98se to let other programs use this connection

TIA for any hints solutions or ...

hmm xp does shutdown slower than the other OS's but i only use it when I updated software otherwise I always use hibernation which of course use's diskspace but starts exactly where you left it :)

(Even when playing an mp3 @ shutdown it starts playing exactly where it stoped :D )
