id say yours is good enough, i wouldnt tweak it anymore cause it will proably just be a waste of time since your at ur caps
Comp 1: 1.4 Ghz P4, 128 MB RDRAM, Rage ATI 16 mB video card, XP Pro, Cox HSI 3000/256
Comp 2: 466Mhz Intel Celeron, 256 RAM, TDK 48x12x48 CD-RW, Win 98 SE, Cox HSI 3000/256

Actually thats pretty good I only get about 220k on my 256k DSL line.

With overhead from tcp/ip you will never reach your theoretical bandwidth limit. A general rule of thumb is to allow a 10-13% loss due to network overhead. So what you are getting is pretty much on target for your connection. Future tweaking would be pretty futile IMO.

I get 738/135 with the same caps and ISP. Here are my settings.

MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 31944
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 31944

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product:

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 1277.76 kbps (159.72 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 511.104 kbps (63.888 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 49 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 01011100

Precedence (priority) = 100 (flash override)
Delay = 1 (low delay)
Throughput = 1 (high throughput)
Reliability = 0 (normal reliability)
Cost = 1 (low cost)
<sarcastic>um... yeah</sarcastic>

Wanna get pwned? :nod:
