I wounldnt spend a lot of time in a server that does not allow players to use the awp, since it is such an intrical part of the game, esp. in clan play.

Ya its all about your comfort zone. NiP has their sensitivity set @ 3 or lower (I have no idea how they can play like that :D )....and most clans have it above 9.

I played half-life and hoards of other fps games but I didnt get hooked until I first played UT. That game just blew me away, and from that moment on I stopped playing starcraft and just played straight UT, and CS.

What I've learned from experiance is by using smaller RWINS there are less lag spikes (Im not sure why thought :) )

Well there are tons, of custom maps to play (e.g. countermap packs), and many CS skins out there. Look for them and experiance the diffrence.

Also there are many servers that play the new additional maps to 1.3, de_survivor, de_inferno build 22, and de_torn beta.

DOD isnt close to the CS standards yet, but it is a highly promising mod. Unlike most mods (e.g. firearms) DOD is quite polished with good radio commands, nice looking and smooth running maps. Im not sure about that, but the main reason that most people input that line is to slightly reduce the load times of CS. CS doesnt search for an available joystick = less memory usage = faster load time.

In first person mode it wont feel like your doing a flip, it will just lfeel like you took a big jump forward.

To see if it worked, try going into 3rd person mode, and observing if the flip works.

press your movement buttons twice, e.g. if you set "w" for your forward button, you have to press it twice to do a front flip. Same goes for all other directions

Im on a DSL connection with Bell Sympatico in the Toronto area, win98, 366 celeron, 64mb ram, Efficient Networks 5260 modem.

If you are using the in game CS browser to obtain your server I.Ps I would highly recommend forgetting it and move onto gamespy 3d. Much faster, more infomation, easy to use, and much more tools.

Basically punkbuster slowing up your computer rumour, is pretty BS, it takes up like 1k of your bandwith. It doesnt slow me that much because it doesnt hog memory and other resources vital for CS. Im on Bell Sympatico DSL and I put both my maxconnections at 500 and 500, the web page loading speed increased heavily.

Try that and see the results, if it doesnt work for you, consider a decrease

Dont worry I changed the Tcp1323opts to 1 about a week ago when I installed v.1.5a and the RWINS and patches worked again.
Try Cablenut first, if that doesnt work go through registry
