What Made You Get Hook?

What made you get hook to FPS? Mine would be Half-Life although I played Quake 2 before it. I liked Quake 2 but never knew about the online stuff and never knew about all FPS games that were out there. I got hooked when my bro started to play Half-Life online and that's when I was addicted to FPS. What about you?

I played half-life and hoards of other fps games but I didnt get hooked until I first played UT. That game just blew me away, and from that moment on I stopped playing starcraft and just played straight UT, and CS.

mine was quake 1 and mplayer. seemed like i lived at mplayer and played quake every waking minute. I first got my cable modem when i started playing quake online. i remeber i was like the first house in my area to get cable when it became available and i could actually get a '0' ping playing quake. no kidding a zero ping. those were the good ole days.
mplayer is gone now and there are no good q1 servers left. just a bunch of punk a$$ bot users playing with runes.

Quake1 was the game that got me fully hooked to playing online with other players, and I never went back to playing single player again except when I first buy a game...for a day or so to learn the movement, levels. The later Dooms and Duke 3D got me pretty interested in online gaming, but it took Quake1 to sink that hook into me.
