Ages a go I put it to 0% now i want t put it to 20& I can't remember how I did this can I have some help please.

I got Ehthernet how to set my MTU?


I used,

netsh interface ipv4 set subinterface "NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet " mtu=1500 store=persistent


But when I entered it it said command is wrong.

name of my network adabter is called "NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet"

Re wirring may help depending on what hop in the tracert the spike is comming from it could be just network congestion.

well I enabled CTCP for congestion but rather than controlling it it seemed to make my gaming online laggey. you woulden't notice it if you was watching youtube and stuff. But ...

Used this and hell it made my ping really really bad it was much better before.

I got like 20% jitter and A B grade on my line thanks TCP optimizer all I did was click optimal like everybody says to do.

my jitter is 2 line quality is A. Why doent you try downloading TCP optimizer from this site and click optimal aapply all cahnges restart run test again

could be the same as yours I got a A star on my line when I ran pingtest.

I have used the SG Vista TCP/IP Patch but it enabled TCP auto tunign for some bizare reason that what stops you from getting your mtu higher. But I knew that already and as you see in the picture above my mtu is already on 1500.
And my tcp auto tunning is disabled.

Your mtu is off should be 1492 for dsl and 1500 for cable download the optimizer and select optimal apply changes and reboot..

My Local Area Connection is on mtu 1500

But when I do a analyzer it says it needs tweaking :S ...

MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput. If you are using a router, it could be limiting your MTU regardless of Registry settings.

Hello I play lots of games online mainly shooting games like

call of duty. I am using windows 7.

my problem is I am getting internet lagg really bad lagg and my ping shoots up to 600.

yes it is but he told me to turn it off. Now I want to put it back to defualt can't remember what the default was.

Uninstalled the game, deleted all traces and in registery, Reinstalled the game, ran CCleaner after that restarted pc then ran scan with hijackthis, Files wont go still, tested game still lagging like usual. :rotfl:

Fix all those (File missing) entries along with uninstall Registry booster, never saw a need for it that did any good.

Try to use the TCP Optimzer using the optimal settings, do a restart and see what ya get? Also when you uninstalled COD4 you went through and made sure there were no left over ...

I uninstalled it and all traces seemsto be gone still lagging ingame. I am doomed for ever well only if I want to play that game lol

I play call of duty 4 modern warefare on PC. Everything was amazingly good for about 2 months yesterday I downloaded Rconmax Beta and then I noticed my internet problems.

Rconmax is like admin tool to connect to the server and do commands like kick/ban people.

on largested MTU when you start it it says fargmented packets what does that mean and can you get rid of it what ever it has done to your internet/pc?

on optimizer screen you got a tab called Largested MTU.

When you do it it says (fragmented packets) what is that? and can it be easly deleted?

Well I have fragmented my packets to a website and now decided I dont need this how do I delete the dragmented packets? It was on largested MTU setting.
