nah lobo, they say there is a 2mbit cap
every other time i called they said no cap
i told them if there isnt a cap then they are gonna send me a new modem and nic card. guess what happened.........yep they admited it

anyone heard of a way to get past rr's cap?
it seems they have had a cap even though they claim there isnt one. 2mbit if anyone is curious in the rdu area.

well, i called rr and talked to a real smart lady *heh*
in any case i am calling back today to find out what they need to do. i have tried so many settings im running out of ideas. any thoughts on if the modem or nic card are bad, possibly the ethernet cable?

the thing is lobo i have tried the higher settings, but when i put in a lower one i actually saw a increase in speeds.

if im not mistaken 802.3 is a internet standard, but i cant recall what for. so i assume its a standard as well. you go look up networking help on the net and find out.

i set my rwin setting lower down to 64240 and my speed went up about 10k/sec any idea why? also can anyone explain how to get the rwin # what the calculation is exactly

i tried both of those settings but neither worked. i know the cable can go faster because i have talked to people in the area and they say they are getting much higher rates. any other settings you can think of?

unable to hold speed

after tweaking all day i am now able to spike at very high speeds, but it then falls back to what it was before.

thats what i got man, seems you have to find the magic settings for rr. i have talked to people that say they get 2meg/sec downloads at night, so i know they are out there. (btw not mbit)

the problem with dsl as you probly know is that they are capped at a certain speed. :(
i had a bellsouth dsl and could only download at around 170k/sec
and uploads were around 20k/sec.

roadrunner speed problem

i have been using roadrunner for several months now, my speeds never reach more then 245k/sec on downloads. i have tried all the speed tweak programs, but they never work. i was told there are more settings in the registry you can tweak to resolve this issue.
