sometimes on some servers a smaller number is better, when you use a scaled RWIN adn the server does not then they meet at the lowest which would prolly be the server's. By lowering yours you have gotten inside of the servers parameters which allows you to transfer at your speed. as opposed to finding an agreeable RWIN for you and the server due to using a multiple

I think i said that all the right way, haha it has been a long day :)

lobo is the king of RWIN and he won't be back for about 7 or 8 hrs. he measures it by CPU somehow I am not sure. but if you look around you can perhaps find some in other peeps postings that my work for you :)

I still love big fat juicy RWIN's even though some like the small one's if you tell me your system specs I'll recommend some, you can of course use whichever you wish :)

I'm quessing but you need to set TcpOpts to 1 to allow scalling :)

Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0b; Windows 98)

TCP options string = 020405b40103030001010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 60648
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 60648
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2425.92 kbps (303.24 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 970.368 kbps (121.296 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 47 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

yes i reboot after settings
speeds = 256k/sec was best speed test i got last night

Lets start from beginning, I went and saw other post and you are on 98SE, OK on desktop click on 4.0, then ccs, then cable, then fast 9x, OK, make GlobalmaxTcpWindowSize-BLANK, RWIN numbers above go in box that says DefaultRvcWindow, put one in after you take out 204400, one at a time try RWIN's till you find one you like, save to registry at bottom and reboot each time you change a value in adjuster :)

Scaling is off in your test so everytime you changed RWIN it read as 65535 because scaling was not enabled, above will turn it on :)
