I forget exactly what my co-worker asked it to write in VB6, but it did it quickly and well.

Something about code that would crunch data, create a folder and dump the data in, then sort it.

It seems to be very good with Visual Basic coding, possibly others, but not so good with some languages ...

You may have hit the nail on the head Philip.

A search indicates this "bug"was in an earlier firmware version, but has since been fixed.

It seems it was in the MediaTek WIFI chips that ship with many routers, dropping connections when they got too busy.

Just overwriting the first few megabytes of the stick with random data should render LUKS useless, even if it is preventing formatting tools.

Theoretically, in Linux you should be able to do a few dirfferent things, first try wiping it clean with:
