I'm looking for a fix as well. Its kind of annoying to know my computer can get better latency but for some reason it just isn't.

I'm going to keep digging though and if i find anything i'll hopefully remember to post my findings here.

Thanks for the responses guys, but I think it was a combo of the modem being crappy and my line giving out. Lately for the past several weeks i've noticed my latency shoot up while I play my World of Warcraft, and sometimes it would actually disconnect.

I've tried contacting Comcast about it (comcast chicago btw) but the guy I was talking too was more concerned with why my Mac adress wasn't either ...

Yeah, i live in chicago and there have been some weird storms lately. I might have to look into that, but its weird how its happening like clockwork, and it doesn't happen when its storming out.

Could it be a coincidence?

I don't come here that often, but its probably because I don't have that many problems, so i guess that's a good thing.

I am using Comcast cable internet with a Motorola surfboard 4100 modem, Lynksis BEFSR41 router (Not that it matters), and my badass computer ...

I have a feeling that my type of router i've been using is the cause of most of the lag i've been having to deal with. I've tried connecting my internet directly to my modem, but everything seems to work fine. Then I hook up the router back up and the problems start again.

I'll be fine for an hour ...
