because even before you select where you save file to, you already download a small portion of it. it starts 200 locally to catch up with what it already downloaded

You might want to apply the corresponding speed patch for your OS first.

Oh, and install the vtcp fix also.

Seriously, if you kinda think about it, allocating RAM shouldnt hurt. As long as you didn't allocate the majority of it :p

Personally, I found the RAM allocation to the NIC pretty much worked. I tested it without it, downloading the Directx8 SDK, a couple of times, recorded throughput, and again with it.

Yes, I clear cache each time.

I found a max 80KB/sec increase :P

Still, I'm not sure if it's really working, but ...

as prompted for name, Flay (Speedguide.net Team) was input. I'm very sure I have this right. As when I start console, user name would read Flay (Speedguide.net Team).

unless of course, thats incorrect

Odd sudden 100% packet loss

About a month now, I've been receiving heavy packet loss everyone once in awhile (15-30 mins interval?). This occurs greatly while in game servers. And this applies to all servers I been to. My settings and such are fine, as I've been using the same even since before this trouble.

I would be ...

VOTE: The Best Firewall.

I dunno, but lets have a little poll.

What do you think is the best firewall? Consider the detectability, ease of use, price, ect.

Now, vote for what you think is the best.
