Ping

Post by SUPAJAwS1 »

I play many online games and am looking to lower my pink(latency) for better gameplay. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

heres my cpu info

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 8760
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 8760
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 350.4 kbps (43.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 140.16 kbps (17.52 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 114 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

What is your connection and what is it RATED at?

your recieve window looks a lil low but we'll decide that after knowing your rated connection.

What website did you order from?

And yes rwin (recieve window) looks low like i said but its kinda pointless to adjust it until we know what your cable is rated at.

I´ve would have suggested that you´d go to http://www.tweakfiles.com and get rasaccelerator or some similar small freware,but they have been closed down.And that´s not cool.There are several other freewares that can change rwin and other settings real easy.
If you search for freewares include"maxmtu" "cache size" i suggest.

Test your upload and Download speed here

Applying the registry patches from Speedguide should help your Bandwidth. Improving your Bandwidth increases the amount of data you can send/receive, example your 245.9 kbps will probably double after you apply the patch.

Your ping time is more related to your ISP. Plus the distance you are from your ISP. Plus how many people your ISP has thru it.

Obviously things that will help you have a consistant ping time are, A fast puter with at least 128ram, a good ethernet card, and good cables and connections.
