I've got the Surfboard 3100.

Good modem.

Doesn't your ISP give you a free one to use on lease though?

Does it pass through a DHCP lease from your ISP's DHCP server?? I'm having difficulty with my SB4100 and obtaining a DHCP lease from my ISP..

What you're actually looking for is an IP lease from the dhcp server. Windows sets this to auto, but it can be forced to use an IP if you normally keep the same IP address. If dont know how to do this, PM me and I'll give you instructions.
