Well, first of all, are you moving to an area that even uses Verizon or @Home? :) Just b/c an area doesn't use Verizon or @Home, doesn't mean service isn't available. I suggest you do some research at dslreports.com and check the CO distance and CLEC availablility for your new location.

What do you want then? Can't help you if you don't even know what's available at your new location.

Try cable first and see how fast it is in your area and how stable. If you don't like it, then get DSL.

What do you want to use this connection for? If it's downloading large files such as mp3's, then I'd go for cable. If you want to do just general web browsing and online game playing, then I'd try DSL.

Sorry, misread the intitial post. I agree w/ HL. If you go DSL, try and get a CLEC like Covad. As for @Home, who is the cable co.?

As bad a rep as @Home has had, Verizons is even worse, avoid them at all costs.

I haven't heard too many good things about Adelphia either, so I'd say get DSL via a CLEC, like Covad. Verizon will still be involved b/c they are the loop provider, however, you won't be getting the acutal DSL from them. Again, I'd do some thorough investigating at DSLR before making a decision.

Good Luck...

For the DSL, it will depend on the ISP and CLEC used (or if the ILEC is used). Verizon typically has lower caps than CLECs.
