In Ohio, I've even seen it in some state campaigns. There was a time when we had real candidates for the presidency.

Bush didn't start the "I approve of this message" crap...I've heard it for years in political ads.

Hahaha... over here the message is slightly different but says the same thing.

"this message authorised by (insert name here) (insert Party here) (insert address here)".

Thankfully our election is today (insert climactic "YES" here.) A five week campaign with no ads permitted from last night. Putting up with the long electoral foreplay you have in America would drive us all round the twist.

You have less than a month to deal with those commercials, so buck up and stop whining like a little baby.

Yes he did....it was in response to the accusations by the press that he had bad intel on Iraq but pressed on anyway with the war.

You're totally full of it, man. Candidates have been saying "I approve of this message" for a long time.

Actually we're both wrong and KYLER is friggin right....

It comes from the McCain-Feingold campaign finance reforms passed two years ago. Its purpose is to let the public know who's paying for the ads they watch on TV or hear on the radio.

Candidates have been required to parrot the message in all of their ads starting July 1.

Wow, a solid comeback.

I'll try to search for what I had written earlier, and if I can't find it, I'll just retype it. Sorry. :(
