What is an average download speed for a 2 megabyte cable modem?

Modems are rated in bits, not bytes. Road Runner, for example, typically offers 2 megabits download, 384 kilobits upload.

You may want to start by removing Marketscore from your machine.

If you have a 2 megabit service, your speed would be... Ta DAAAAAA 2 megabits/second download.

Or... Big files from fast servers get to you really fast, and Web Pages from Fast servers within your own country probably load almost instantaneously.

My answers are pretty vague, because so is your question.

How do I remove marketscore from my machine?

Marketscore is spyware, download install and update Ad Aware & SpyBot then scan with them and remove ANYTHING they find. There are links to them in my help & tips link.

I recommend that you get Spybot Search and Destroy from the link below:

Also, Ad Aware 6 from the link below:
http://www.lavasoft.nu/support/download/

Once installed, run the updaters in each program then scan with both programs to remove Marketscore and any other spyware that may be present and slowing your connection down.
