Quicktime

Post by downhill »

Is the devil.....
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

Quicktime is the lesser (just slightly) evil of the three: WMP, RealPlayer and Quicktime.

I cannot stand RealPlayer! And now that they have released RealOne I hate it even more. It's one big nag/ad screen.

Oh, and here's another recent article I came across about Apple media:

Yes it is the dark prince of the streaming media players. I installed it to watch a WRX vid, and henceforth I was vexed with many devilish happenings on my comp. Have since banished it to the recycle bin. Gonna let it suffer in purgatory for awhile, then can it.

i used to bash quicktime all the time. but i finally bit the bullet and installed it for a video i wanted to watch. never heard from it again. It's still on my machine and only asks me to upgrade every once in a while when the program is opened...

NEVER asks me out of the blue to register or upgrade

NEVER takes over any of my other programs

same with realplayer, if installed correctly, it only takes over for real media...

neither bother me at all :2cool:

First....everytime I install it...it fubars my animated gifs....some of them run way too slow....Without quicktime..no problem...

And..I have a hard time getting rid of everything.

For instance..this last time..even though I uninstalled it...I still had files left. In fact, it still puts an icon that dosn't work in my start tray......I can't find anything where to get rid of it.

In explorer, there is nothing showing it...and...a search shows nothing..

It's the devil I say...

And..if I may add....I don't want a how to fix it.....I'd rather leave this as a rant..

That way I don't have to move it to the software fourm. :p
