thats been explained already

a score had to be changed in the 3dmark results, it was inputted wrong at first... it turned out to be like 300 or something 3dmarks lower then the orignal score

kyle forgot to put a noteation in the review that he changed it

one person, JCViggin who has wanted to take revenge on hardocp (long story there) started this whole mess, his minions and him made up false acusations and photochoped a graph to bring [H] down

he got what he wanted, praise and people singing up on his forums

there is no conspiracy, kyle is not being paid by Intel,

and the result that was changed doesn't effect the outcome and conclusion, it still shows the HT P4 right where it was....

and kyle made a big apology on the front page friday....

Well

Post by terrancelam »

after visiting their forums a long time ago under my own namesake, I found the place to be a big pool of nagging teenagers whos parents bought them all their part (but there were a few creative and intelligent individuals there, however the lots of mass idiots kind of crowded them out). I didn't really have anything bad to say about the other reviewers and the only reason I went to the place was to see Brents reviews when he posted them here. I know from the help he's given to people here at our tech forums that he is a skilled enthusiast and knows his stuff.

As for this whole hullaballu, I have two things to say.
1.) Brent, don't take any posts here as an attack on you. Though you may work for [H]ardOCP, you are not them as they are not you. Yes you may be a vital part to their success, but they are not vital to your own success.

2.) Kyle Bennet obviously made a mistake in allowing mass banning of people. It just isn't done and he took the path which all powerful people take. From what I've read and gathered from individual peoples, I've found this situation to be quite disgusting and am glad to be a part of Speedguide.net.

kyle doesnt know how to handle a problem, i believe what he posted on teh site abotu the review, but anytime theres a problem and the posters at [H] are right but negative, he bans them, then fixes the issue.

brent and steve do good jobs on reviews, i wouldnt believe them to doctor anything. maybe if kyle postes in one of the threads and was like, sorry we're fixing teh error now and stuff it would have gone smoother. i know i dont always remember what OC i'm running on all my stuff everytime, its an easy mistake to make.

Ok guys...enoughs, enough.

Mr. White apologized to terrancelam. It was a simple misunderstanding on what Mr. White ment.

Let's be civil here.
The tools of conquest do not necessarily come with bombs and explosions and fallout. There are weapons that are simply thoughts, attitudes, and prejudices to be found only in the minds of men. For the record, prejudices can kill and suspicion can destroy and a thoughtless, frightened search for a scapegoat has a fallout all of its own for the children and the children yet unborn and the pity of it is that these things cannot be confined to the Twilight Zone.

Too bad such a useful thread has been crapped upon so thoroughly (by both sides).

Anyway. I never really did read the reviews at hardocp. I pretty much post to their gaming forum and read their Intel forum.

Dats it so I really don't care. I honestly have no trust in any website that does reviews and runs advertisements for the company that manufactures the product on the exact same page.

But they all pretty much do that so...

Think of it this way, macho. If you just heard that you got a great review at a site, wouldn't you want to advertise your product there? Or maybe the reviewer won't let the mfr post and at unless the product is good? Sure you have to to trust the site, and it can go either way, but if the review is consistent with other ones, then should there still be doubt. I fully trust the [H], anand, rage3d, accelination, and a few others. They haven't given me reason to doubt. If brent posts a review for an awesome card, and the mfr posts an ad, does that make brent a liar?

It doesn't. But If Brent posts a review, makes a honest mistake on it, then your me, Amro, M0a2t4t get banned because we mention it in a thread, then I think something has gone awry.

As for Mr.White, my apologizes for misunderstanding your statement. It's not ever day I get such a ambiguous comment.
