LOTR Extended DVD

Post by Thorazine »

For those of you with more than just a passing interested in LOTR, I recommend getting the extended version. I personally think that Peter Jackson did a much better job with the film than the original theater release.

It's soooooo much better and you get a free movie pass for The Two Towers. Well worth the investment. ($24.99 US at Best Buy - $8 for the pass, It can't be beat!).

Have any of you seen the extended version? What did ya think?

I thought the additional footage was ok....some of it was outstanding while there were some parts which I thought were just ok. Don't get me wrong...I loved every minute of it and it gets watched regularly. I just thought that the bonus footage didn't really provide anything really new or mindblowing.

Great movie though....btw, got my copy for $17.95. + free movie pass.

Without adding in any spoilers. I thought the extended version "fleshed" out several parts of the film that the theater release glossed over. The extended version did alot better job explaining and adding elements from the book that I thought should have been in the theater release. But I also realize that 3 1/2+ hours for a movie is a little more than the avg. movie goer could handle.
