Cant Load Internet Pages when connected ?? HELP !

Post by Nutty33 »

Hi
I got this problem b4, but i fixed it.
It happened again after i reformatted my comp and reinstalled windows.

The problem is after i connect to the internet ( i am using Rogers Cable), everything seems good. But, after roughly 2 or so hours, i cant load any pages, it just going to say "The Page Cant not be displayed". It fixes everytime i restart my computer.

I am running on win98se
I try the following but it didnt help:
reinstall the network adapter
replace the adapter
reinstall the TCP/IP
download patches for Windows
Replace the winsock files
Reinstall Windows using a different CD

I know it is a Windows Problem because i just have to restart my comp to fix it.

So if any of you out there who knows what's the solution to this problem and how to fix it (or remind me how to), plz reply !

Thnx
Tom

Another thing i have found to cause that are simple updates from Micr$oft or the card Manufacturer.

Sound's like a hardware problem to me,NIC or memory. If you do have all the latest updates for 98se and still having these problems,i would be 100% it was a hardware issue,it may even be a DNS lease Renewal problem, which could be caused by a Firewall program not allowing DHCP to renew your lease,

Next time it happens,go to start, run, type ipconfig and hit the renew/release button. then try browsing again. If that doesnt do it,i would look at my hardware.I have also seen heat build up in the power supply and MB cause these type problems.Check all your system fans.It could be 1 of 15 things, you just have to check them off,one by one

DO you kazaa installed. if you do have you tried running a spy ware remover such as ad aware. I work for a DSL company and Kazaa causes this problem all the time for us.
