XP or OS X ????

Post by volntn »

Which do you guys think is the most stable,Now before we get the Mac guys jumping down my throat for even asking this question,i want people that have and do use both.I myself like XP although OS X has a little better eye candy. But for comapatibility you cant beat XP,,heck my machine has been on non-stop without a re-boot for a month.I have to say after a year of use that Microsoft Finally got it right.

One problem though..since installing "parts" of SP1 my IE6 auto update will scan for updates and display 0 updates available, which of corse i know isnt right as i havent installed the .net framework ,euro conversion tool etc.I reinstalled IE6 and the active x update control and to no avail.Oh well i guess if i want anything else i will "plug" it in manually.

yes xp is great. as long as you keep everything clean, defragment, and stabilize your computer it will always run good. just like trying to keep a house clean.

macintosh's have always frozen up on me, i always had to use the paper clip to stick it through the hole in the front to force re-boot the computer.

The windows update site for XP scans for 1.Critical Updates 2.Recommended Updates 3.Drivers

And since SP1 it doesnt "scan" any longer, the active x control just goes from 0 to 100 with no updates available.I have seen a few posts out on the net with people that are having a similiar problem to mine.I have check for microsoft white papers on the issue and havent found any relating to mine as of yet.But other than that one glich XP works flawlessly.I dont consider it to be an OS issue anyway. Its an Axtive X control issue from a web site.....
