Panaroma View

Post by reeo »

Keep in mind I am very limited, to say the least on web design. I want to learn how to add a 360 view of a room to a web site.
My photo editor will stich pictures but I wanted a bit more plus a view that turns automatic, or be able to change directions. I found this program to be what I am looking for but if any of you have a better idea let me know. It costs $50 Euro. http://www.ptgui.com/ The next step is how would I create a link on my site so people can view this room or any panaroma view. A short explanation would be nice if possible. Really what I need is ideas and a links for resources so I can learn. Thanks for your time.

One last thought, I would like it to show on the screen at roughly 6"x 8". One thing I haven't done as yet is view the source of any sites that incorporate this feature, but it may not help me.

Just a couple of files you need and script
Half way down the page is a simple Pan
It is a simple java applet

<applet code="pano.class" width=300 height=250>
<param name="file" value="libpan.ivr">
</applet>

You will need this file

and

this file

if you hack around in the .ivr file you might be able to figure it out, cheaper then buying the program

Another way you can do it would be in a flash movie like this

When I was trying to figure it out, i found the pano.class reference by viewing code, then searched in search engine for pano.class, found lots of open directories mostly from european sites and just raided what I wanted :)

Thanks Chris, I'll give it a try. I have the basic idea and I see what you mean by european sites. I was not able to check out the two files yet, I kept getting the can not find server. I'll try later or tommorrow. I'll prob screw something up but I have some time.
