I think it's great when I need to use it for transferring a big file, but certainly don't have it running in the background. It gets run every few months.

I don't like how you have to click "send" everytime to send a message instead of just pressing enter.. but AIM is kinda childish looking especialy with those annoying face images they have, and the sounds drive me insane from either side.

you can disable all the sounds, which i do

and you can use the 'aim' style of sending messages if you want, it lets you select either the classic style, or the new style of just having a window open and typing in your text and hitting enter and it stays open...

i use the classic method though, i'm old skool like that
